I clicked on homes I wanted to see in the Raleigh area. The company has a feature on their website called, "Let Yourself In." When you click on this, you are able to get instant access into the homes. I signed up for an account and in order to get inside of the homes, American Homes 4 Rent uses an online lockbox company called, Rently. The two homes we entered are listed on americanhomes4rent.com, a legitimate rental company's website.
Don’t give anyone your personal information, Social Security number, or bank information. Only share this information if you've confirmed that the company is legitimate. Don’t send mortgage payments to any company that is not your loan servicer. Request each renter’s personal references and follow up with those individuals. Before renting your property, meet the prospective tenant or the person who will pay the rent.
